As a Coach, I work with C-Suite executives, business leaders, and leadership teams to help them become more engaged and courageous.
We spend too much of our lives at work to be anything less. As a change agent, I am dedicated to creating the conditions for individual and organizational growth. Such transformation depends upon trust and collaboration, which begins at the top; that is where I work. I believe my clients already have all the answers, they simply have not asked themselves the right questions. Those are usually the tough ones, but it is through this inquiry and close examination that we find the best results. This is where I can help. With courage, a certain amount of risk, and, when we’re lucky, humor, my clients begin to recognize and remove the barriers preventing them from leading their employees and organizations to greater capacity. Some of my organizational development consulting clients include: Kettle House Brewing Company (MT) King Arthur Flour (VT) The Forest Group (CA) CMC Rescue (CA) Moementum, Inc. (OR) Gramicci (CA) |

About Lu
In my previous career I was Global Director of Human Resources for the clothing company Patagonia, Inc., where I also worked as assistant to the founder, Yvon Chouinard, served as the company’s Public Affairs Director for ten years, and spent time as Director of Training and Employee Development.
Before landing at Patagonia, I worked for fifteen years with the National Park Service, where at Yosemite, my telephone number was 911. As a dispatcher for the entire 1,169 square mile park, I took emergency calls ranging from lost hikers to drug overdoses. To provide guidance and encouragement to those immobilized by fear was simultaneously a great challenge and a great delight.
Today, I still provide support to those paralyzed in some way by uncertainty. The results my clients enjoy are not always as vital as those in Yosemite but are often more wide-ranging and long-lasting.
My educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from Antioch University, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, and Career, Executive and Life Coach certification with the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.
In addition, I am an adjunct Professor in the MBA programs at both California State University (Channel Islands)
and Gonzaga University.
When my coaching cap comes off, you’ll find me hiking trails in nearby mountains, fly fishing in Pacific NW streams, building up a sweat in a spinning class, or supporting the work of individuals and organizations dedicated to
preserving and protecting the natural world.
