Thoughts that might make a Simplicity Coach the right partner for you:
- I am exhausted, stressed and distracted
- Saying no to people or things feels scary. I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings
- I feel guilty focusing on myself when other people need me
- My schedule is constantly full and hasn’t left me with enough time to rest
- I want to declutter, but I don’t know where or how to start
- I can envisions what calm looks like to me, but it feels like a distant dream
Both science and your soul will agree that choosing calm where you currently feel chaos can create a new and beautiful path to walk through life. When we live in a state of constant stress, our cortisol levels rise, which can lead to disruptions in daily life such as issues with sleep, memory and concentration and increased risk of multiple long term health problems. Becoming aware of the root cause of our stress and addressing it with clear focus and a simple approach, will allow more space for what matters most to you.
Places to start
1. Mental Clutter
2. Physical Clutter
3. Time Commitments
4. Personal Boundaries
5. Relationships
Mental Clutter: The human brain has not caught up to the demands placed on it in today’s technology driven world. Adding email, social media, text messages and phone call on top of balancing work schedules, children's calendars and activities and somehow making time for ourselves can feel nearly impossible. Understanding where the majority of your mental load is focused will allow you to see what can begin to fall of the list to make room for what matters most.
Physical Clutter: Your environment is a reflection of what’s going on inside of you. It isn’t magic, but even small changes to your physical surroundings can create the shift you need to start the journey toward your goals.
Time Commitments: Do you tend to say ‘yes’ to too many asks and fill your calendar for the months ahead without batting an eye? Yikes! I am tired just thinking about it. Right now, a Saturday with no plans might feel like a day wasted, but what if that morning you woke up to a beautiful day and could make a choice to go to the lake or spend the day reading instead of rushing to the overbooked schedule you usually have planned?
Personal Boundaries: Learning to step back from things that do not serve you can feel scary, especially if you have been a lifelong people pleaser. Setting boundaries gives you the physical and mental space to stay focused on your priorities.
Relationships: Many people, especially those who identify as people pleasers will put others needs before their own, even for people they may not like. When you know who matters to you and is someone you want to spend time with, it’s easier to step back from the relationships that are not serving you.

Find Your Calm
Everyone’s journey to a more simplified life is different and what calm means is also individualized, but there are a few key components that live at the core of desire for change.
1. Make sure you ready for change
For most of us, change is uncomfortable. Even the thought of it sends most being running back to routines that aren’t serving them, but feel secure. If you are ready, really ready, we are here to guide you through the scary parts of change and celebrate the feeling of exhilaration on the other side of that first step and beyond.
2. Identify your why
Have you identified your top priorities? Before taking action, understand how your goal aligns with your top priorities. When they are aligned and you keep your focus on your priorities, the motivation to succeed will come easily.
3. Start small
It’s easy to add too much to the list when decided on a goal. Pick something that feels realistic and attainable (even it if still feels scary). When you are able to check that box, it will build your confidence and motivated you to keep moving forward.
4. Keep yourself accountable
In a world that moves faster and faster every day, it’s easy to decide to put things off. Find a person, mantra and system that will keep you motivated on your long game. Once this new habit becomes your instinct, you won’t look back.
5. Celebrate!
Breaking old habits and creating space for new calm in your life isn’t easy. Hooray for you! Take time to celebrate the new energy you are bringing yourself and how your fuller cup will serve you and those around you.
